Baslow Edge Playgroup opened in 1975. It operates from the Haddon Room in Cliff College Training and Conference Centre, situated on the A623 between Calver and Baslow. The provision serves children from surrounding villages. A maximum of 26 children may attend the playgroup at any one time. The playgroup is open during term time only, Monday to Thursday from 08:30 to 15:00 and Friday from 08.30 till 13.00. Children attend for a variety of sessions. All children share access to a secure enclosed outdoor play area.
The Playgroup aims to introduce the pre school curriculum, which emphasises early literacy, basic maths skills & development of personal and social skills. Sessions are held at Cliff College throughout the week.
