The Curbar Art Show 2016 will be our 5th art show. Our previous shows were well attended and sold a good number of pieces. We are now firmly established in the art exhibition calendar and model ourselves as an affordable art show with every effort made to run the event efficiently, professionally and with a quiet style and confidence. This year, the show will run on Saturday 30th April and Sunday 1st May from 10.30am until 4.30pm. We anticipate that this will be an exciting and well-attended event, which will be widely publicised both locally and regionally.
The show takes over the school for the weekend, classrooms rooms being turned into exhibiting spaces and one into the ever-popular Art Show café. The café will serve light lunches and homemade cakes, all served by our pupils, past and present. There will be papers to read and a quiz to do, should you require further reason to linger.
The last event exhibited work from 60 different artists and covered a wide range of media including oils, pastels, inks, watercolours, acrylics, sculpture and pottery. This year we also hope to include photography and jewellery for the first time.
To exhibit with us artists should complete and return an application form. Receipt of a completed application form will secure a place. We ask for works to be brought on the Friday evening of the show. Each artist will have a space of 6’ high by 4’ wide on which to exhibit. Pottery, sculpture and other 3D work will have a table approximately 2’x4’ in size. There is an exhibiting fee of £5 and a commission of 25% for every piece of work sold.
All the money raised by the event will go towards further improving the facilities and equipment that our children have at the school, this income makes a real difference and we thank you for your help in raising it.
